Any suggestions on how to quit smoking successfully?
Categorized: stop smoking aids | 8 comments
I cannot use any stop smoking aids, ie the patch or gum etc… any good methods on how to quit smoking?
Make sure you surround yourself with support from before your quit date arrives. I found online forums most useful as we were all experiencing the same thing. I’m proud to say I’m now over 3 months quit.
Good luck with it and below I’ve provided a link to one of the great sites I found most helpful.

make your mind, and be a man, just decide and stick to it.
best way is that take a three days holiday, dont go out of home and dont smoke. Make yourself busy with TV, Video games and indoor games, ask your non smoking friends to help you in this time and give you some company.
thats all

There’s Nicotrol by Pfizer. Basically, it’s a pipe you put nicotine capsules in{no, you don’t light it}, but you do inhale it everytime you need some nicotine. An elderly gentleman, a neighbor of mine, who smoked for 50 years has quit , and he said he never would. Visit your doctor.

I’ll tell you what worked for me. I wasn’t going to spend the rest of my life craving a smoke, so I set a date 5 months in the future and told myself you are not going to smoke until then. I was okay after about 3 months. The important thing is to not smoke at all for the nominated period. None.

I did like "Sue_Namie". Set my birthday as my quit date, and gave it to myself as a present. I smoked all I wanted til that day, then quit. I didn’t say anything to anyone til they began to notice. I used altoids, cough drops and the like to be having something to do with may hands. Six months later, I don’t even do that.
