Should You Take A Shot To Stop Smoking?
Categorized: stop smoking shot | No comments
Smoking is a deadly habit, so a lot of smokers are encouraged to quit. Quitting is a difficult choice and it is even more difficult to complete. That is because of the addicting chemical in cigarettes called nicotine. Many smokers who have quit eventually start smoking again. Some of them have tried a lot of different methods of quitting smoking, and still end up going back for a puff of smoke. Those individuals who are at their wits end may consider taking a shot to stop smoking for good.
Quit smoking shots have been around for quite some time, and they claim to have an incredibly high success rate. This shot works by injecting chemicals to block the nicotine receptors in the brain. A person has to take three shots for this method to work. Additionally, a person has to wear a Scopolamine patch and take Atropine pills for up to two weeks after receiving the shot.
While taking a stop smoking shot might seem like a quick and easy fix, there are some things that have to be taken into consideration before an individual decides whether it is right for him or for her. The first thing to consider is one’s health. The smoking shot and the medication can have bad side effects, which can really do damage to someone who is already not healthy. Another thing to be considered is the cost. These shots are expensive ranging from $300.00 to $500.00. Additionally, most clinics that offer this shot require a person to attend a support group.
The bottom line is that even though this shot is highly effective, it should be a last resort. A person needs to make sure that he or she has fully exhausted all other safer and natural methods to quit smoking before doing something this drastic.
